Edward L. Westerheide, M.D.

Dr. Westerheide is a general orthopaedic surgeon who has a subspeciality interest in shoulder surgery. He routinely performs shoulder arthroscopic surgeries including; rotator cuff repair, instability repair, and labral or SLAP tear repair. He also specializes in performing shoulder replacement surgery.
Dr. Westerheide enjoys the challenge of evaluating all types of musculoskeletal problems. He works very hard to solve his patients problems without surgery, if possible. However, when surgery becomes necessary, he routinely and confidently performs a very broad spectrum of orthopaedic surgeries. Some of the common surgeries he performs include: arthroscopic knee surgery and ACL reconstruction, fracture surgery of all types of fractures involving both the upper and lower extremities, common hand and wrist surgeries including; carpal tunnel release, dequervain’s release, trigger finger release and ganglion excision. He also routinely performs total hip and total knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Westerheide is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has been practicing orthopaedic surgery in Licking County (Newark-Granville area) since August of 1998.
Dr. Westerheide works closely with his Physician Assistant, Gerald Inks, PA-C, who he has been supervising and mentoring since June of 2008. They work together as a team in order to provice their patients with the most comprehensive and efficient orthopaedic care possible.
